Um Rashid: Her children had a recurrent cardiac arrest

Um Rashid, a mother of three angels whom two of them are diagnosed with an electrical cardiac disturbances. This issue makes them prone to recurrent cardiac arrest and fainting. The treatment was to implant a cardiac device to prevent the critical event, unfortunately, they were too young for such devices.

Both parents were worried that they have to watch their children going through this suffering over and over again, until Dr. Ismail Al Abri, Senior Pediatric Electrophysiologist suggested a temporary solution until they are old enough to have the implantation: Basic CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training.

A skilled nurse who is a certified CPR Trainer taught the mother ,who was eager to learn how to save her children lives, how to perform the correct chest compressions and how to give mouth-to-mouth breathing in case of arrest at home, until being able to reach the hospital.

The mother looked scared little bit and reluctantly asked the nurse: Would not I hurt my children with such strong chest compressions? The answer from the nurse made her to make her mind and firmly say: Yes, I will definitely do whatever it takes to save my lovely daughter and son.

The nurse’s answer was: When they faint or collapse, your strong compressions and warm breaths can literally mean: They are back to life.
