The Royal Hospital became a member of this vibrant and growing international community of hospitals, health systems, health care facilities and health organizations dedicated to reducing the health sector’s ecological footprint and improving public and environmental health. The benefit of this membership is mutual, as a hospital we receive guidance on achieving the top ten goals of the GGHH.

Accredited Centre for the Clinician -Patient Communication

The Royal Hospital is honoured to be the first healthcare organization in the Middle East to collaborate with The Institute for Healthcare Communication (IHC), USA to get the credential and host Clinician -Patient Communication to Enhance Health Outcomes (CPC) Educational activities since April 2019.

The IHF Awards 2019 winners were announced at an awards ceremony during the 43rd World Hospital Congress in the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre

The Royal Hospital won the Dr Kwang Tae Kim Grand Award with Merit for their “Lean Healthcare Implementation in a Public Hospital in Oman”.

The winners were selected by an international jury of renowned healthcare industry leaders chaired by Dr. Lawrence Lai, Honorary Member of the International Hospital Federation.

The Royal Hospital has been awarded the International Diamond Award by the Swiss-based European Society for Quality Research

The award was handed over at a ceremony held in the Austrian capital, Vienna, which was attended by a large gathering of quality experts and academics and representatives of some international institutions.

The association grants this award annually to distinguished institutions in the development of excellence and quality programs and adopts selection criteria based on the contributions and efforts of the institution in promoting leadership, continuous development and satisfying the beneficiaries of services.

The Royal Hospital won the "Privileged Change Management Strategy" Award during the GCC Government HR Summit in Abu Dhabi on October 15, 2019.

This award is a recognition of the keenness of the Royal Hospital to improve its services including developing the working mechanism of the outpatient clinics. The on-time appointments attendance system aims to achieve the best use of resources, as well as reducing the total waiting time taken to meet the specialists in the outpatient clinics.

The Royal Hospital won an Excellence Award for initiating multiple projects to improve performance on patient centered care

It was awarded to the hospital during the Second Annual GCC Patient Experience Summit held September 2018 in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Many innovative projects and initiatives aimed at different aspects of the patient's experience, such as scheduling time as well as reducing the cancellation rates of surgical appointments.

The Immunology Unit at The Royal Hospital gained international recognition and was certified by Global Allergy and Asthma European Network (GA2LEN) as a Centre of Reference and Excellence in the management of Angioedema (ACARE) since 2018.

The Royal Hospital is accredited by The European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO)

The National Oncology Centre (NOC), The Royal Hospital is accredited by The European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) as a Designated Centre of Integrated Oncology and Palliative Care, since 2013. ESMO addresses the universal needs in oncology by being a reliable partner to all stakeholders in the multidisciplinary oncology environment.

Laboratory Medicine & Pathology ISO 15189 accreditation

The Royal Hospital laboratory was one of the first government hospitals medical laboratories to be accredited by UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Services) in the Middle East.

The ISO 15189 accreditation demonstrates the quality and reliability of medical services. It is an internationally recognized standard that contains the requirements necessary for diagnostic laboratories to demonstrate their competence to deliver reliable services.

The Royal Hospital has been accredited since 2016 by Accreditation Canada International, meeting all the required standards of developing systems of delivering high-quality services and enhancing the culture of quality and continuous improvement.

 

Up
